Day Hospital Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria
All inclusion and exclusion criteria are guidelines only.
Patients will be accepted into the Clinic’s program following a referral from an accepted source.
Sentiens clinic case management process will monitor patient’s progress and review the treatment plan on a regular basis.
Patients eligible for inclusion:
- Adults who are currently being treated for a diagnosable mental health condition
- Who are privately insured or eligible for Medicare rebates
Patients ineligible for inclusion:
The person who:
- Has a primary diagnosis of a substance abuse disorder and/or who continue to use these substances
- Have an intellectual disability
- Who are on remand or have a forensic history
- May have a cognitive impairment, brain injury or a dementing illness which precludes their involvement in the group activities
- Is assessed as needing hospitalisation
Important note:
- All patients must be registered with a medical practitioner for ongoing medical support.
- Patients will be accepted into the treatment program under the supervision of either a General Practitioner or their private Psychiatrist.
- For the purposes of Sentiens Treatment program these external medical practitioners are able to remain as the patients primary care coordinator/ case manager
