PPC Australia (PCC) has been providing Employee Assistance Programs and associated organisational development and consulting services since 1st July 1993. PPC has grown to become one of the largest, national providers of EAP and organisational development and well being services to a diverse range of over 2,000 public and private clients across Australia. PPC employs in excess of one hundred people with approximately 95% providing direct client services. In addition we work with a team of affiliates that numbers in excess of 600 across 350 locations.
PPC Worldwide’s Employee Assistance Services help organisations achieve higher levels of employee health and productivity through professional counselling services for staff and their families. These services can be accessed through self referral and/or manager referral – around the clock and around the world – and include:
- Face-to-face counselling
- Telephone counselling 24/7/365
- Onsite and offsite counselling programs
- Trauma counselling following a critical incident
- Specialist Manager Hotline
- Online services
As part of online services PPC offers HealthSteps as part of its suite of services. The Healthsteps programs (Banishing the Blues, Combating Stress, Conquering Anxiety, Effective Communication, Couples, Managing conflict at work, Corporate coaching) can be accessed through PPC’s website and without any direct contact with a counsellor. The client can however choose to have a counsellor monitor their progress through the Healthsteps program and provide feedback.
Alternatively Healthsteps is utilised as part of the counselling program between the client and counsellor as method of providing skills and strategies to address and overcome concerns and integrate this in everyday life to bring about positive change. Many times the information gathered during the client’s progress through a Healthsteps program forms the basis for tackling specific issues or areas that require further attention and development.
The program is predominantly utilised to assist a person develop their own methods for dealing with specific issues promoting behavioural change and independence.
Current Australian Research indicates that on line counselling is as effective in addressing issues related to anxiety and depression as face to face. (McCredie, J. Online Therapy: Helping Treat Depression in Rural Areas, UNSW, 2009.)

PeopleSense PeopleSense provide three areas of organisational consultancy to a range of clients in business and government throughout Australasia. We offer a range of innovative services and published materials which include the Leadershift work-life balance program, Positive People Program and Mental Health Awareness. PeopleSense employ an outstanding team of psychologists, vocational rehabilitation consultants, occupational therapists and ergonomists which forms a dynamic and experienced team.
1. Our injury management teams are innovators in the field of vocational rehabilitation and achieve return to work outcomes well above industry standards (Workcover WA). We are renowned for employing experienced consultants, with a strong focus on client centred processes that enable a safe and speedy return to work, or resolution to their injury.
2. Our Employee Assistance Programs provide professional counseling to company employees and their families. Our assistance draws on the specialist skills of our psychologists, covering a wide range of personal and professional issues. PeopleSense psychologists also offer professional coaching and are available for psychological therapy through the Medicare ‘Better outcomes for Mental Health’ initiative As part our professional psychological interventions, PeopleSense offers Healthsteps online therapeutic programs (Banishing the Blues, Combating Stress, Conquering anxiety, Effective communication, Couples, Managing conflict at work, corporate coaching). These programs assist face to face counseling, or can be accessed independently through PeopleSense website. Our focus is to provide a range of support media for our clients, to promote wellbeing and sustain psychological progress, regardless of their preferred counseling style. HealthSteps programs have been a vital component in providing appropriate support to time poor individuals in an ever growing technological population. Our clients report great benefit from the information, homework activities and self assessment that comprise the programs.
