Our Commitment to the Environment

Efficient use of our limited resources and adapting to climate change are high priorities on most people’s minds these days. How the environment is changing and the important strides we are taking to reduce the ecological footprint will go a long way, no matter how small.

At Sentiens, we are making a conscious effort to reduce our waste. Recycling of paper and other items has been in place since inception. Other initiatives include turning lights and air conditioning off in areas not in use and monitoring utilisation trends.

Unfortunately, disposal of e-waste is a costly and complex activity, particularly with the emerging recycling market in Australia. We believe that appropriate management of old and unused electronic equipment is important and must be recycled appropriately.

Our management team is educating staff, Psychiatrists, patients, carers and visitors about Sentiens' commitment to a green environment and continues to implement strategies that further foster a culture of corporate responsibility. It is also targeting a NABERS rating of 4.5 star (out of 5) in future buildings.

With new initiatives and research being continually emerging, we are attempting to ensure that our business is more energy efficient, less environmentally destructive and generally that our people are conscious about these issues.
